What Makes Motion Unique?
1. User Interface
Motion has a beautiful user interface that is straightforward to use. They have created a separate section for each essential feature.
Be it their task homepage, task creation page, calendar, or even the scheduler, you will find it easy to jump through the pages and interact with them effortlessly.
Their homepage looks like this:

Here, you will be able to see all the tasks and events that you have added. Motion also has a today widget that you can quickly use to add tasks and events.
Besides that, it is easy to create new tasks, drag and drop them into your calendar, schedule them, and so on, all thanks to the easy-to-use and comprehensive interface.
The learning curve for Motion is very low, except for some features in settings and scheduler (more on that later).
2. Motion Calendar

Motion’s calendar is one of its most powerful features.
The calendar allows you to view your day, week, or month at a glance.
You can also easily create and manage events.
One great thing about Motion’s calendar is that it integrates with other calendars, such as Google Calendar and Outlook.
This means you can easily import your data from other calendars and view it in Motion.
As discussed earlier, Motion offers separate pages for Calendar, Tasks, and Scheduler.

The left side of the page consists of a task creation window, from where you can easily create and drop tasks to your preferred timings in the calendar.

On the right side of the menu bar, you will always see options to filter and view your calendar based on days, weeks, and even months.

Besides that, Motion’s calendar also has a dark mode that makes it easy on the eyes.
At the top, you will also find a search bar where you will be able to search for your teammates (if any) and even search for different calendars.
At the left-footer, you will be able to enable and disable the completed tasks. If you enable this option, they will show you all the completed tasks.

Overall, using Motion calendar is effortless and easy. Every option can be easily mastered.
3. Task Management Efficiency

Motion’s task management system is very efficient.
You can easily create tasks and sub-tasks, set due dates and reminders, add notes, and attach files.
Motion also makes it easy to share tasks with your teammates. You can either add them as watchers or assign them to specific tasks.
One thing to note here is that Motion doesn’t have a built-in chat system like Asana, Trello, or Jira.
But you can use services like Zoom or Crowdcast to communicate with your team.
The task page looks like this:

You can either add tasks by clicking on the “add task” button located in the top right corner of the tasks page.
Or you can do the same from the Calendar page, as shown below.

Either way, upon clicking the button, you will be able to see the task details.

Here, you will be able to modify data such as:
- Project name
- Task name
- Take notes
- Deadline priority
- Deadline date
- Schedule
- Etc
Once you are done, just click on the blue button to schedule that task, and it will be added to your list of tasks.
One great thing that Motion does to keep you in the loop with the current task and keep you from distractions, it will show a small banner in the top right corner about your current task.

4. Advanced Scheduler

Motion’s scheduler is robust and easy to use.
You can use it for a variety of purposes, such as:
- To create repeating tasks
- To set task reminders
- To set up task dependencies
- And more!
The scheduler page looks like this:

It may look technical at first, but it is straightforward to use.
You will see a “Create booking link” button (blue-colored) at the top right of the Scheduler page.
Click on that button, and you will come across all the necessary options for the same.

Here, you will be able to choose the time when the guests/team can book meetings with you, choose your availability per day, attendance requirements, meeting priority, and much more.
After giving the desired inputs, it will generate a URL for you that you can share with anyone who wants to book meetings.
You can also come up with pre-questions for all the invitees before they book a time slot.

Besides that, Scheduler has some default options in Motion settings.
For instance, if you schedule meetings for similar purposes and use the same message, then their default template can be of great use.

These were some major features provided by Motion.
However, this is not it!
Upon exploring their settings, for example, you will come to know that there are a lot of untapped features that can be of great use and convenience.

If you want to add more than one calendar and use it for different purposes, then you can do it easily from Motion’s “sync calendar” settings.

Similarly, there is another cool setting feature named Focus Time.

Here, you can select days and break out time for yourself by cutting down on meetings and therefore enhancing your productivity.

Then, you can choose to go with their Pro or Team plan. The Pro plan costs $34/month and the Team plan costs $20/month/user.

Decision
Motion is a great task management app.
